Bangkok University International students are having so much fun celebrating the Holi festival together!

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 10.00-13.00 hrs. Bangkok University International provides students with a cultural knowledge-sharing of India under the slogan “Embracing cultures, Empower the future”. This event was hosted by BUI Indian students and co-organized by the International Culture Exchange (ICE) Staff team at the yard behind the C6 building together with a special show from the Bui dance club. The dress code for this event is white to get ready for the color splash. Interesting activities that are hard to miss such as playing with color of course! Traditional dance, Mehendi, photo booth, and interactive game. Not just that food and drinks are provided. Samosas and Lassi are ready for you to try.

Let's take a look at the Holi celebration, what is it about?

Holi is celebrated in India to say hello to spring and the winning of good over evil. Holi is lovely and joyful. People came and shared this memorable festival together. They throw the color, splash water, dance together, sing together, and enjoy the festive food. Holi is also a sign of the end of winter and the beginning of the harvest season in spring making people in the community come and share the joy of this celebration together.

I Had a chance to interview my friend who joined the celebration of Holi this morning, which is Tualek, Model, and Sophia and they are all saying this festival is the best! Three of them experienced this festival for the first time with such memorable moments that are hard to forget. From the point of view of Tualek and Model, what they love most about this festival is the Indian food which they have never tried before, and the dance show from the Bui dance club. The food was awesome and tasty, which made both of them want to try more Indian food from now on. The Indian dance show is super energetic with a beautiful costume that made it hard to take the eyes off this performance. According to Sophia, throwing color and getting mehndi on both hands was so much fun. She has a good time seeing people smiling and sharing a good moment together. Getting the Mehndi just gives her a more festive vibe. Attending this festival is also another chance to get to know people from another major as well and she can't wait to join it again next year.
